Killary Tours was established 20 years ago in Leenane, Connemara. Mary and Jamie Young, outdoor adventurers, and owners of Killary Adventure Co. were convinced that more and more travellers yearned for an active participation during their vacation in Ireland, rather than seeing the countryside fly by from the window of a car or bus. They formed a company, Killary Tours, that will this year welcome it’s 10,000th visitor to Connemara. The company has grown from a fledgling business that offered cycling tours to now include walking, horse riding and golfing breaks in the most scenic areas of Ireland.
Mary and Jamie have settled with their family in Connemara. Today the Killary group comprises of Killary Tours, K2 - the Killary Centre and the Killary Adventure Company.
Although the Youngs are still the driving force behind Killary Tours, there was the need to expand the service offered for the tours, and the administration team now consists of
Laetitia Norel as Tours Manager and Marjo Partanen our Tours Co-ordinator, not to mention the many tour guides that we employ over the summer.
We take pride in selecting the best accommodation, providing quality equipment (Giants& Cannondale lightweight hybrid bicycles), knowledgeable, charming tour guides, detailed pre-departure tour information and maps, and full back-up support whilst you are on tour.
Above all, we are a small team, we know every detail about our tours, and we will give our all to ensure that you enjoy an unforgettable holiday with us as our guest.
